What this policy covers
MathSnapAI turns a photo or typed math word problem into a step-by-step lesson, lets you ask a teacher follow-up questions by text or voice, and saves the lessons you choose to keep. This policy explains what the app handles, where it stays and when it leaves your iPhone. MathSnapAI has no account, no sign-in, no ads, no analytics SDK and no tracking.
Given: what stays on your iPhone

Find: what is sent for AI help, and only after you allow it
Nothing is sent to an AI provider until you tap Allow AI help. After that:

Both providers are based in the People's Republic of China, so this data is transferred to and processed there under their own terms and privacy policies. The app does not send your name, contact details, device identifiers, location or photos. Avoid writing personal details into problem text or speaking them during a call.
Photos you save
If you save a solution card, the app asks for add-only Photos access and adds one image (your problem photo plus the steps you kept) to your library. It cannot read your library.
Permissions
Camera (photograph a problem), Microphone (voice questions and calls), Speech Recognition (on-device dictation), Photos add-only (save a solution card). Each is optional; you can type everything instead. Change them anytime in iOS Settings.
Your choices and deletion
Turn AI data sharing off in the app’s Settings at any time; in-flight requests and audio stop immediately. Delete a lesson in Saved lessons to remove its local content and photo. Deleting the app removes everything it stored. We hold no copy on any server of ours, so there is nothing for us to export or erase; for data already sent to DeepSeek or StepFun, their policies apply and we can help you contact them.
Children
MathSnapAI is a study aid for students and adults. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children, and children under 13 (or the age required where they live) should use AI help only with a parent or guardian’s permission.
Security, retention and changes
Local data stays in the app’s sandbox under iOS data protection and is kept until you delete it. Requests travel over HTTPS/WSS. If this policy changes we will update this page and the date below.
Answer: your photos and lessons stay on your iPhone; only the text and audio you choose to share go to DeepSeek or StepFun, and only after you say yes.
